Francis joins the family :-)

Meet my new fiber producer - baby Francis! He is from a litter of Wellington's half sister at Freehaven Farm. He is 1/2 English Angora, 1/4 French Angora and 1/4 Satin. He is already quite a bit bigger than he was in this picture. I am certainly enjoying my bunnies!

Stitches South Report & Wellington Update

Stitches South was alot of fun. I spent two days with knitting friends looking, learning and laughing. Because I already have tons of yarn, I resisted buying any for as long as I could ;-) What I did purchase were Big Stitch needles from The Bagsmith. We're talking humongous needles here - I plan to use them to make rugs, wallhangings and other large items. Yay - my favorite!

We learned that Stitches South will return to Atlanta next year, so keep that weekend in April free for fiber fun.

And here's Welly wearing his new harness - stopping to eat some hay and then cruisin on the porch. He's had a chance to talk a walk outside and likes to pause and eat some fresh grass now and then. He has lost the sight of both eyes, but does very well gettting around in familiar settings. It is a challenge these days to keep him groomed and keep the pollen out of his wool ;-)

Wellington update :-)

Here is Wellington in one of his favorite corners of my back porch. You may notice that he's had a "haircut." He has some very dry skin and I am hoping that with some more humidity and time outside it will clear up. I thought for awhile that he had a cataract in one eye, but maybe it was only an infection because it has mostly disappeared. Welly and the other boys in my household are becoming more and more tolerant of each other. The bunny and Cooker, the dog, and Boo, the cat, are becoming more comfortable with being in closer proximity. They certainly are fun to watch! Welly still lets me snuggle with him, but I'm sure he misses all of the daily shop visitors. Wellington's breeder has some other pure-bred English angoras for sale ($50) - let me know if you are interested.

Weaving with Snuggly Baby Bamboo

What a fun day I had on Wednesday weaving with my Wednesday morning ladies. We made table runners and I actually finished mine later that evening. PattyAnne's Place has wonderful videos and information about weaving and spinning.
